Henry Cavill, the British actor that gained notoriety for being this generation’s Man Of Steel, will no longer play the latter.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier.

The report mentioned that the 35 year old actor was supposed to be part of the Shazam film. But due to scheduling conflict Cavill will no longer be able to make the cameo.

Other factors are part of the decision for the British actor not returning to down the red and blue suit.

The report states that the new Supergirl movie will feature a younger version of Superman. So that means that they’re going to look for younger actor to play Superman.

Also Henry Cavill is slated to star in The Witcher franchise for Netflix. This means that him making a Superman film is going to wait until he finishes his Witcher duties.

This is not the first time we’ve learned that an actor is not going to reprise his role as a superhero. A couple of months ago we reported that Ben Affleck was backing out of the Batman role. That has not been fully confirmed. But there have been back-and-forth decision in regards of Affleck playing the Caped Crusader.
