Even though an announcement was made a couple of months ago, the next installment of Metroid Prime is still under development, this according to the president of Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aimé.
“Last year was important to us to message to the Metroid fan that there was a Metroid Prime experience in development, as we showed Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS,” Fils-Aimé told Game Informer. “We didn’t want that fan to say ‘You just launched a new system, when are you going to bring me a Metroid on that platform?’ We said it was coming. This year, with so many games launching effectively between [now] and the first half of next year, we wanted to focus on those games. Rest assured, Metroid Prime 4 is still in development and proceeding well.”, Fils-Aimé told in an interview with Game Informer.
During the interview Nintendo’s president said that this version of Metroid it is still a priority. But, because of the long list of the games that Nintendo has on their developing process, Metriod fans will have to wait a bit longer.
Metroid Prime number four was first announced by Nintendo. The announcement came with a brief video that only showed the title of the game and the number four.
In other news the president of Nintendo also mentioned the possibility of launching a mini version of the Nintendo 64. The company wants to take advantage the same way they have been doing it for the last 2 years. Firstly with the coveted Nintendo Entertainment System (NES Classic Edition) mini console. Followed by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) mini console. Both were sold out in seconds and they are still a Holy Grail of an item.
But a few days ago, in a surprisingly move by Nintendo, the company launched a couple more of the first Nintendo Entertainment System mini console. Apparently this could be the last batch of this product. Target and Walmart stores are the places to buy the tiny console while supplies last.
