Monster Hunter World

The video game Monster Hunter World just solidified itself as one of the most successful video games of all time. Why you ask? Because their studio Capcom was proud to announce that the game just passed 8 million copies sold before its upcoming release on the PC.

It has been approximately six months since Capcom released this monster hit for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Capcom detailed that Monster Hunter: World’s physical and digital sales hit 8.3 million units during the last fiscal quarter. This brought an increase of 46.5% on the company’s net sales year-over-year. The company said in a statement that, “in this business, the phenomenal success of Monster Hunter: World from the previous fiscal year continued, with the title gaining further popularity through the expansion of its user base.

In scoring a worldwidesmash hit, the series solidified its position as an international brand and strengthened our base of IP.”

Looking forward, Capcom is preparing for the highly-anticipated release of the game for the PC, which is slated to launch on August 9. Moreover, the studio also revealed the specs for the PC version of the game.

As of right now pre-orders for the PC are available on Steam. And also players who will avail of it will receive the Origin Armor Set and the Fair Wind Charm as bonuses.

Monster Hunter World debuted earlier this year. Most games expert have agreed that the game is a flawless one. Announced at E3 2017, Monster Hunter: World adopts the series’ standard formulas from its older home console roots and recent handheld games to take advantage of the higher processing power provided by modern consoles and computers.

Monster Hunter: World is the second best-selling PlayStation 4 video game (7.9 million copies sold). By the looks of it, the product of Capcom could easily top the fourth installment of Uncharted. Right now Uncharted 4 is the top selling game for the Playstation 4 console.

Red Dead Redemption 2 campaign mode playing time revealed

You could be spending the same amount of time playing Red Dead Redemption 2 as with GTA V.

Red Dead Redemption 2

One of the most anticipated video games of this year, Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), could be a long one to play. According to Vulture, the game takes almost 60 hours to complete, that when it comes to the campaign mode.

Dan Houser from Rockstar Games revealed that the game was supposed to featured almost 65 hours of gameplay. But there was 5 hours of content that had to be cut for the final version.

Also, the games main protagonist, Arthur Morgan will have love interest while the game progresses. The content the was cut for the final version of the game included a second romantic plot. But in the end the lead writer of the game, Houser, explained that “we decided one of them didn’t work”.

Other missions were also subject to cuts. These included “a mission on a train where you had to fight with bounty hunters”. Thankfully, you can recreate that particular experience organically, as part of the daily random encounters in the world of RDR2.

While motion-capture for the single-player game’s story is complete, Rockstar is still shooting sections for Red Dead Online. The beta version for the latter is due to arrive in November.

The success of RDR2 is one that can’t be denied and will be extremely massive. All this given the track record of the saga and the success that the developer has found in this type of formula for a video game.

Rockstar’s latest entry, Grand Theft Auto V, earned $1 billion in its first three days and has sold nearly 100 million copies. In April of this year, GTAV — made from a approximate budget of $265 million — passed $6 billion in sales. Making the game the highest-grossing entertainment product in history. (Avatar, the highest-grossing movie ever, earned only a measly $2.8 billion in theaters.)

The release of Red Dead Redemption 2 is just around the corner. Can October 26th come any faster?

PSN ID Change Feature Announced

To some, the lack of ability to change your PSN Online ID was becoming some kind of a joke. To others like us, it was continuous frustration, more so if you had a god awful PSN ID that you came up with when you were a stupid teenager, like me.

But now there is some good news on the horizon. PlayStation has announced it will be testing a new feature that allows you to change your ID yourself.

The PSN Online ID Change feature beta will be a part of the PlayStation Preview Program, and will become available to select users that have pre-registered as testers for previous PS4 system software betas.

During the preview program, you will be able to change your online ID as many times as you want. The first change is free, and changes after that will cost $9.99 USD / CAD.

For PlayStation Plus members, it will cost $4.99 USD/ CAD after the first change. Changes to online ID can be made through the Settings menu or via the Profile page of your PS4.

PSN ID Change Feature Announced

When you change your online ID, you will have the option to display your previous ID with your new ID, so your friends can recognize you. Once you decide to display your old ID or not, you won’t be able to adjust this after completing the online ID change process.

This feature is compatible with PS4 games originally published after April 1, 2018, and a large majority of the most-played PS4 games that were released before this date. However, please note not all games and applications for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita systems are guaranteed to support the online ID change, and users may occasionally encounter issues or errors in certain games.

The feature will be available to PS4 users in early 2019.
