After 2 years of fans waiting for the continuation of the series from Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the visionary filmmakers behind Sound of My Voice and The East, the show’s return is almost over.

The OA first dropped on Netflix in late 2016 and was the passion project of actress-writer-producer Brit Marling, and center around Prairie Johnson (Marling), a blind girl who went missing for years.

Now in her 20s, she returns to her small-town home with her sight fully restored. While some members of the community call it a miracle, her presence is considered baffling and even dangerous to others. Adding to the puzzle is her refusal to tell her parents and the FBI anything about what happened to her for seven years.

The mysterious first season left viewers hanging with a climatic ending that did not explain much of the secrets, leaving the series for open interpretation and/or new season.

This new trailer is a bit more clear on things too happen, but one can get lost fast by all the philosophical stuff.

Here’s the official synopsis for The OA Part II:

The “mind-bending” story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.

Created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, The OA: Part II stars Marling, Jason Isaacs, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emory Cohen, Patrick Gibson, Phyllis Smith, Sharon Van Etten, Will Brill, Brendan Meyer, Ian Alexander, Brandon Perea, and Chloë Levine. This season’s guest stars include Paz Vega, Irene Jacob, Vincent Kartheiser, Sheila Vand, and Riz Ahmed. Look for The OA to return on Netflix starting Friday, March 22nd.
