The supposedly last entry in the Rambo saga already has a release date! According to Deadline, the fifth and final movie of the First Blood series will hit theaters September 20th, 2019.
“Rambo teams up with a journalist to track down and rescue a group of local girls that have been kidnapped by a Mexican sex trafficking ring, after trying to settle down to a quiet peaceful life stateside at the family ranch in Arizona after spending decades abroad.”
The movie will bring back actor Sylvester Stallone in the lead role. The rest of the cast will feature Paz Vega. She will play Carmen Delgado. The character is a reporter who covers the Mexican drug trade and teams up with Rambo after her younger half-sister is kidnapped.
Stallone co-wrote the script. The film will be directed by Adrian Grunberg. One his most recognized work is the film Get The Gringo, starring Mel Gibson.
Rambo is an American franchise based on the David Morrell 1972 novel First Blood. This story is about John Rambo, a troubled Vietnam War veteran and former U.S. Army Special Forces Soldier. This character is skilled in many aspects of survival, weaponry, hand-to-hand combat and guerrilla warfare.
The franchise has been so successful that the character became a pop culture phenomenon. Along the likes of Commando, Terminator and Rocky.
