News has surface online the yet another remake is in the works and the winner is Wrong Turn. The 2003 horror film is the latest movie that will be getting a Hollywood remake. The first horror installment of the franchise featured the cast of Eliza Dushku, Jeremy Sisto and Emmauelle Chriqui. And yes, there have been six total films made over the years.
The horror franchise’s creator Alan McElroy is back to write the script for the remake. Also, Mike P. Nelson, who recently helmed Orion Classics’ sci-fi thriller The Domestics, is set to be the director of the film.
The description of this new version is that is going to be “a timely and topical meditation of society and its issues. A cross-country hiking expedition puts a group of friends in the land of an inclusive society, where the soon discover they are under a different rule of law, and may not be the victims they thought they were.”
Robert Kulzer who is producing the horror flick said that this re-interpretation is a frightening reflection of our world today: one person’s American dream is another’s worst nightmare.

Friends Jessie (Eliza Dushku) and Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui) are traveling with pals Scott (Jeremy Sisto), Evan (Kevin Zegers) and Francine (Lindy Booth) when they have car trouble in West Virginia. Moments later, motorist Chris (Desmond Harrington) crashes into their disabled vehicle.
Stranded, the friends discover that they’re being stalked by a horde of backwoods cannibals. The woodsmen are hungry and fierce, and they’ll be eating well unless Jessie and pals can outsmart them.
So far there is no release date for this new take of Wrong Turn.
